My name is Chad Egeland and I’ve wanted to write short stories and eventually a novel as long as I can remember. My love affair with books started at an early age as I was an awkward, shy and introverted child that trouble making friends and turned to books instead of others. I started off with a love for The Hardy Boy novels before graduating to R.L. Stine and then Stephen King, Peter Benchley and Michael Crichton. I spent the summer vacation when I turned 13 reading Stephen King’s IT and it terrified me and showed me that words on a page can have a tremendous impact on those that read them.
I gave up on my dreams of writing for a living upon entering high school and then life happened. I have always been a creative individual and over the years have always found myself in careers that would allow me to incorporate creativity and writing into my paying jobs. Now, I have decided to return to writing and will be using this blog as a motivational tool to keep writing.
I plan on publishing a new story each and every Monday. I can’t promise that any of them will be any good but I’m hoping that none of them will be horribly bad. What I can promise is that each story will build upon lessons learned previously and that I will get better.
I hope you enjoy the ride, because I certainly will.
